Oklahoma Hot Air Balloon Ride Event Recap (& Where You Can Fly Next)
Are you wondering, “where is the best place to ride a hot air balloon in the US?”
We recently wrapped up what we believe is one of the MOST fun things to do in Oklahoma: The Bulldog Balloon Bash at The Chicken Shack!
If you weren’t able to attend, you missed out! The evening was filled with live music, ADORABLE bulldogs from Tornado Alley Bulldog Rescue, and hot air balloon rides hosted by yours truly, Visionary Balloonworx. Plus, we all enjoyed food from Arcadia and Route 66’s own The Chicken Shack.
Needless to say, we were flying high!
Being able to support nonprofits and engage with the community as a business is a huge blessing. We love getting to show fellow Oklahomans their beautiful state from an entirely new angle. There’s nothing like it!
Oklahoma Hot Air Balloon Rides for ALL Ages
In addition to supporting shelter dogs from Tornado Alley Bulldog Rescue, we were able to help some people conquer their fears.
That’s right! Hot air balloon rides, while safe, can be scary for a lot of people.
During the event, we exclusively offered tethered rides without an age cap. This allowed EVERYONE to dip their toes into hot air ballooning fear free.
What does tethered hot air balloon ride mean? During a tethered ride, you’re tied securely to the ground for support meaning you won’t be flying away! It’s the perfect experience for those of you who aren’t quite comfortable venturing up among the clouds.
Okay, but are hot air balloon rides safe?
Whether you’re tethered to the ground, or brave enough to conquer the sky, you’re safe! We know it can look a bit scary, but balloons are one of the safest crafts in the air. Our pilots go through extensive training, and each and every one of our balloons are inspected regularly to ensure they are ready to fly. We never cut corners!
But, if you’re still a bit uneasy, we recommend you first try a tethered ride!
We have events year-round, offering tethered rides that still let you see the world from a new perspective (though we believe Oklahoma is the BEST place to ride a hot air balloon). Plus, events allow you to try something new in a community atmosphere!
